Dear Supporters,
Kilifi County continues to face one of Kenya’s most severe food insecurity crises. Recent assessments show that 98% of households experience food shortages, and 39.1% of children under five suffer from stunting. Unpredictable rainfall, degraded soils, and lack of irrigation infrastructure have weakened agricultural productivity, leaving thousands of families vulnerable to hunger and malnutrition.
Despite these challenges, our team has begun mobilizing communities to prepare for sustainable solutions. We are working with farmers to introduce climatesmart practices, testing soils to improve fertilizer use, and identifying sites for borehole drilling. One farmer shared how training sessions helped him adopt new soil conservation techniques, giving him hope that his land can once again produce enough food for his family.
Looking ahead, our objectives include:
Drilling 50 boreholes to provide irrigation and clean water.
Training 500 farmers in climatesmart agriculture.
Establishing 100 community gardens to improve local food access.
Supporting 200 livestock farmers with breeding and disease prevention training.
With full funding, we expect to see thriving community gardens, improved maternal and child nutrition, and longterm food security for thousands of households. Your continued support is vital to turning these plans into reality.
Thank you for standing with us in the fight against hunger. Together, we can ensure that families in Kilifi have access to nutritious food and a sustainable future.
Warm regards,
Nicholas O. Ondiek
