Dear Donors,

On behalf of Asante Aid for Children and Schools in Africa, I extend our deepest gratitude for your generosity and trust. Your support, no matter the size, is a powerful statement of solidarity with the vulnerable families and children of Kilifi County.

Though we are still at the early stages of fundraising, your contributions have already given hope to communities facing hunger and malnutrition. With your continued partnership, we will be able to drill boreholes, train farmers in climatesmart agriculture, establish community gardens, and improve nutrition for thousands of children and families.

Every donation brings us closer to a future where no child in Kilifi goes to bed hungry. We remain committed to transparency, sustainability, and measurable impact, and we will keep you updated as this project grows.

Kilifi Hunger Relief & Agricultural Empowerment

By Asante Aid for Children and Schools in Africa

 PROJECT UPDATE REPORT

1. Background
Kilifi County continues to face severe food insecurity and malnutrition, with 98% of households experiencing food shortages and 39.1% of children under five suffering from stunting. Unpredictable rainfall, soil degradation, and lack of irrigation infrastructure have weakened agricultural productivity, leaving thousands vulnerable.

This project was launched to eliminate hunger and enhance food security through sustainable agriculture, improved water access, and nutrition programs.

2. Progress to Date

  • Donations received: USD 16 (accumulative)
  • Donors engaged: 3 supporters so far
  • Remaining goal: USD 302,676
  • Duration: 8 months into the implementation window

Groundwork activities completed:

  • Community mobilization and sensitization meetings.
  • Identification of priority sites for borehole drilling.
  • Farmer registration for the upcoming climatesmart agriculture training.
  • Soil sample collection planning with agricultural officers.

3. Challenges

  • Funding gap: Current donations remain insufficient to begin infrastructure works.
  • Climate variability: Ongoing drought conditions continue to strain communities.
  • High food prices: Families continue to struggle to afford nutritious meals.

Despite these challenges, Asante Aid remains committed to readiness and transparency, actively engaging with potential partners and donors.

4. Next Steps
With sufficient funding, we will immediately:

  1. Drill 50 boreholes for irrigation and drinking water.
  2. Train 500 farmers in climatesmart agriculture and soil conservation.
  3. Test 1,000 soil samples for optimal fertilizer use.
  4. Establish 100 community gardens for locallygrown food.
  5. Train 200 livestock farmers on breeding and disease prevention.

5. LongTerm Impact

  • Sustainable irrigation through boreholes.
  • Empowered farmers applying smart agriculture techniques.
  • Thriving community gardens improving local food access.
  • Boosted livestock productivity, enhancing household nutrition.
  • Reduced maternal and child malnutrition rates.

6. Gratitude & Appeal
We sincerely thank our initial donors for their trust and generosity. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to transforming Kilifi’s food security landscape.

We appeal to the GlobalGiving community and partners to join us in scaling this project. Together, we can ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that Kilifi families thrive through sustainable agriculture.
