Famine hurts education. 1,000 vulnerable school girls risk missing school without daily meals. Your donation gives food vouchers to keep them learning. By providing food vouchers, this project would address hunger, allowing 1,000 girls to stay in school, in Aweil East County of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State of South Sudan for 90 days; and focus on their education during a critical food crisis. This not only empowers the girls with knowledge but also increases their chances of a brighter future.
War and violence in South Sudan have caused a terrible food crisis. People are very poor and many have fled their homes. Aweil East County, already struggling, now has even more people to care for. These refugees are a result of the current Sudan war and hostilities. The resultant population pressure has negatively impacted the food market. There is food shortage. This makes it nearly impossible for families to feed their children, including 1,000 girls who may be forced to drop out of school.
South Sudan's war has brought about hunger and emptied classrooms. Girls, already facing a tough gender-based situation, are dropping out faster than ever to find food for their families. This incredible project throws them a lifeline in the form of food vouchers. These 1,000 girls, will get a bright future instead of empty bellies, focusing on lessons instead of where their next meal will come from. These vouchers are a hope for a future where education, not hunger, wins. SSGID will lead it.
Empty stomachs steal the dreams of a nation more of girls. The unending civil wars leave 1,000 girls hungry and at risk of dropping out. Our food vouchers fill their plates as well as minds. Educated girls become strong women, breaking the cycle of poverty and violence. The net result will be raised employment opportunities for women. Moreover, the inequality that is rampant in the country will be greatly reduced. And there will be hope for lasting peace arising from increased literacy.
