We recently adopted a new school in the Eastern Cape South Africa. At a site inspection we discovered that the roof is made of asbestos & must be replaced. We cannot have children attending school in an unsafe environment and need to have the roof replaced urgently. This school serves 120 children and was scheduled to close, due to lack of funding. This is the only school in this impoverished, rural area.
The building for the school is in need of repair. The roof has asbestos in it, and needs to be replaced to keep the children safe.
We can use the money raised to pay the builder to buy materials and build a new roof.
The children will be able to go to school in a safe environment.
