Mahesh Foundation is a not-for-profit that has been working to help the neediest people of the society since 2010. We run a care home for HIV+ children where we provde food, shelter and education to about 40 children.
Utkarsha Learning Center is an education initiative of Mahesh Foundation. We are offering Free Education, Free Transport and Free Lunch to underprivileged children from Sagar Nagar slum near our foundation.
The 50 children that attend our school are first generation learners as their parents are involved in petty sales, rag picking or begging. These children would not stand a chance in their grown up years to improve their life without good education. The Utakarsha model educates them using experiential learning.
We hope to change the lives of not only these 50 children but also impact their entire household by enabling these children to escape the vicious cycle of poverty.
Donations from GlobalGiving have enabled us to hire some of the best teachers, get some of the best teaching material to educate these children. We are grateful to the social investors who have invested through GlobalGiving portal. Thank you.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
