Our UZ students have started their semester well with those who stay in the purpose built university residence settling into life away from their homes. Depending on the programmes they are studying, some had a lengthy two months off while others had just two weeks. Either way, they all seem to have hit the ground running and we are confident they will do well.
While students were taking a break, it was a very busy time for our CEO and COO as they tried to source funding and donations to cover the university fees which had increased three times in the last semester alone. Makomborero not only had to look for funds to cover the current semester but also find funds to ccover a debt that was lingering from the previous semester. We are grateful for a local Zimbabwean company that stepped in and paid all fees for this semester and the debt for the last one. We cross our fingers that there will be no increases this time round and wish all our students a successful semester.
