Laying the Foundation to Keep 300 Girls in School
Since launching our project, Nourishers Charity Organisation Limited has been working closely with local schools and communities in Central part of Uganda (Wakiso District) to understand the menstrual health challenges preventing girls from attending school consistently. Through our pilot assessment and discussions with teachers and students of Dolphins High School Wakiso, we identified a significant need for affordable, reusable sanitary pads and menstrual health education. One student shared that she sometimes misses classes during her menstrual period because she lacks reliable menstrual products. To protect her privacy, we have not included her name.
Our team has also been documenting the needs of the girls, engaging school leaders, and preparing for project implementation. Our goal is to support 300 girls with reusable sanitary pads and menstrual health education so they can remain in school with dignity and confidence. We are grateful for everyone who follows our journey and looks forward to sharing more updates as we begin delivering support to the girls in the coming months.
