Great news!
Our project has gotten off to a great start. With the support of Kwanda, we have kept 100s of girls in school. Check out our first report attached. More to follow!
It highlights the impact of the Like Her Project, a flagship initiative by the AKAYA Foundation aimed at empowering young girls through health, education, and confidence-building workshops. Supported by Kwanda, sessions held in the Central Region and Shai Osudoku District engaged over 200 girls aged 9-19. The workshops addressed menstrual hygiene, barriers to education, and self-empowerment, with 93% of participants reporting improved preparedness and confidence. The initiative provided reusable sanitary pads and educational supplies to combat period poverty and enhance school attendance. Feedback emphasized high satisfaction and long-term benefits, including emotional empowerment, educational continuity, and career inspiration. The project exemplifies transformative community impact.
