1. Status

In July 2021, the fourth COVID-19 pandemic began in South Korea.

On July 21, 2021, there were 1,784 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the most in one day.

Last week it was a one-third delta mutation. Vaccination was completed by one-third. However, the number of infections is increasing.

2. Solution

The goal of this project is to support the medical field.

At Seoul National University Hospital, we received opinions that the medical masks (N-95) and dental masks we applied were sufficient.

The supported masks are being used at living treatment facilities, medical sites, screening stations, and each ward.

Supported items are as follows.

-N-95 Mask (for medical staff): 4,000 sheets

-Dental masks (for users of examination centers and medical institutions): 91,120 sheets

Existing support masks are still in use.

Mask donations continue.

New support was requested from Seoul National University Hospital.

The request is for self-quarantine support for medical staff.

Medical staff must undergo self-quarantine for 2 weeks after being put on the scene of COVID-19.

However, the cost of self-quarantine is not enough.

Therefore, the money delivered this year is made to support medical staff (doctors, nurses).

The cost received this year is 500,000 Korean won,

This cost is for one person to self-quarantine for one week.

(lodging, disinfection, food expenses, etc.)

3. Summary of results;

Photos were not delivered.

Please understand that it is not possible to take separate photos of self-isolation facilities, which are accommodation facilities, for reasons of personal information and portrait rights.

1. Summary
In South Korea, up to 1,200 confirmed cases of COVID-19 per day occurred in December 2020. It is about four times higher than in September 2020. Currently, about 300 to 400 people are confirmed every day. As of March 25, 2021 (tomorrow), the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases will exceed 100,000.

2. Solution
Vaccination began in February 2021. However, the number of confirmed COVID-19 patients is not declining yet.
The Seoul National University Hospital that we supported is undergoing screening and vaccination.
The masks we supported are being used for medical staff at Seoul National University Hospital, screening tests for medical staff, and patients visiting pediatric hospitals (children and adults).

KASC COVID-19 Response

1. Summary

In Korea, the number of COVID-19 confirmed since April 3 has exceeded 10,000. 78.5% of all confirmed cases and 91.5% of deaths occurred in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do. KASC will help the Mungyeong Third Life Treatment Facility where confirmed patients were transferred from Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do. It will be used for PPE equipment for medical staff, Various Medical supplies for confirmed patients in living and treatment support center.

2.How will this project solve the problem?

The most important thing to survive and cure is to support medical field. In order to achieve our goals, we will deliver your fundraising to Mungyeong Third Life and Treatment support Center. The necessities of supplies continue to change depending on the situation. In order to cure and survive, we will provide medical supplies required by the medical field.

3. Process

The number of confirmed patients at the Mungyeong Third Life Treatment Facility fell(decreased) sharply in April. Therefore, medical staffs said "PAPR (Powered Powered Air Purify Respirator Personal Protective Equipment) is enough".

Instead, if medical masks (N-95 and splash masks) are needed, the following sponsorship was given to Seoul National University Hospital, which operates the Mungyeong Third Life Treatment Facility.
Since the end of May, the number of confirmed persons has increased again. In this situation, it was important to screening the COVID-19 cofirmed.

4. Summarizing the results,
Surpport were made on April 27th and June 4th, and medical staff purchased masks directly.
-N95 mask (medical care mask) : 4,020sheets purchase
-Dental (surgery) mask (for selection clinic) : 53,400sheets purchase
-Currently in use at the screening clinic.
-PAPR equipment has been enough since May, so a mask was requested by the medical staff.

Most of all, medical staff can buy moremasks than NGOs buy.
The medical staff directly purchased the dental mask at a discount of about 90%. The purchased masks were used in screening clinics where demand increased intensively.

Related documents are also available in past reports.

5. Medical staff's thanks
Medical staff were very grateful to donors.

*Attached pictures are only those provided by the hospital.

KASC thanks to Donors.

Hi The GlobalGiving team

COVID-19 response report is sent.

Response to the amount and support for the mask was completed in June.
Supporting supplies are still used for medical staff and visitors to screening stations.

Additional official thank-you letters and photos are sent together.
For domestic support, the form prescribed by law (confirmation form) is taken.

Medical staff were grateful for their donations abroad and were surprised to deliver an official thank you letter (to GG and Ford/Dealer).
Delivered to Ford and dealers through Ford Korea,
Attach a formal thank you letter from the medical staff to GG.
I want to convey the real thing, not the image. Please provide the address and the person in charge. (COVID-19 is difficult to mail, but I will find the delivery method.)

Screening clinics and life treatment facilities are limited to outsiders' visits. Due to this, there is a limit to photography and evidence related to transmission and use.
The results of the support have already been continuously delivered to Ford,

and proceeded in the desired way (amount and quantity, delivery time, issue of KASC's donation receipts to domestic companies, etc.).

I am sorry that the deadline for GG will be passed and delivered. Please understand that collaboration with medical staff is not easy because of COVID-19.

Summarizing the results,
Applications were made on April 27th and June 4th, and medical staff purchased masks directly.
-50% reduction in N95 mask (medical care mask): 4,020sheets purchase
-Dental (surgery) mask (for selection clinic) 90% reduction: 53,400sheets purchase
-Currently in use at the screening station.
-PPE equipment has not been in short supply since May, so a mask was requested by the medical staff.

Thankyou for your surpport to Korea.

Everyone Always be healthy.

Joo young, Lee / KASC
