Funding received in spring 2023 will be applied to our 2023-2024 program year, with the majority of our programming taking place in spring 2024. Currently we are carrying out Fall programming and coordinating with partner schools to determine school visit dates for the spring semester.

We are in a strong position to meet our goal of serving 25,000 students in JA BizTown and JA Finance Park, with approximately 23,000 students already scheduled to participate in these programs. With the support of partners like you, we ensure that students have an immersive learning experience and learn the skills needed to be successful in school and life.

As a result of completing JA BizTown, students displayed the following: (1) Greater confidence in how to earn, spend, and save money. (2) Increased likelihood of using their money to help others. (3) Stronger understanding of the role business plays in the community. (4) 9 out of 10 students are more aware of the career options in their community. (5) 91% understand the skills needed to be successful in their future job.

As a result of completing JA Finance Park, students displayed the following: (1) 67% of students understand how to manage money. (2) 64% of students made the connection between real life and the classroom. (3) 61% of students found new ways of making decisions.

Students, teachers, and volunteers have already been providing positive feedback based on our programming this fall. Students and teachers had the following to say about our programming in early November 2023:

“This is our school’s first time coming to JA BizTown, and the students have been looking forward to it for a while. The learning became real for them when they discovered that they’d be working in real businesses that they see in their community. The fun activities have kept students engaged throughout the experience.” – Alexandra, 5th Grade English teacher

“In my role as CEO [at JA BizTown], I’ve learned that a good CEO needs to have confidence, manage their frustration when mistakes are made, apply leadership skills, and budget our money properly. I’ve learned that it takes lots of workers to make sure all the jobs get done – just like in the real world.” – Tony, 5th grade student
