A warm hello from Guatemala,
All of here at the Integral Heart Family School in Antigua Guatemala hope that you are doing great.
Starting on Oct 5th and running for a week, we have set ourselves a goal to raise $10,000 which will be matched by 100% from a Match Fund that we have already raised with the help of 8 major donors.
You can contact me directly regarding the details of this match at info@integralheartfoundation.org
What a journey I have been on this past 10 years with the Integral Heart, and specifically this past year continuing to connect kind hearts to the cause. So this is a message to send you my utmost thanks in all the ways you have supported our kids on their heroic journeys out of generational poverty. Thank you for always being there for these deserving kids. It’s given them possibilities many were previously afraid to even dream of.
And for the first time in 12 months, we dug ourselves out of our deficit this past July, so now all we need to do is hit our October and December goals. What helps us significantly do this is to build a private match pot of donors committing to pledge and amount that we can then use as encouragement for our smaller donors to give during our fundraising drive week. As of the time of writing this, I have managed to procure 5%, $500, of our hoped for a $10,000 matching pot that will significantly help us raise $10,000 through our support network Oct 6-10.
About us: The Integral Heart Family is a 501(c)(3) charity based in Antigua, Guatemala dedicated to transformation. We provide 65 children born into generational poverty with all they need to grow, succeed, and thrive.
Education is the heart of our work. Our school is home to 65 children receiving classes in Spanish, English, Human Rights, Homework Help, Art and serves 1,500 meals monthly. Since 2011, our programs have delivered classes and support to over 2,200 students and their families here in Guatemala. We have also provided over 4,000 food baskets to our 35 sponsored families.
Our students come from poverty, child labor, and neglect. When they enter our program, they begin their journey to wholeness in our safe environment. We become their source of stability where they can anchor themselves. Here they rebuild their faith in themselves, the world, and their ability to dream.
Our model is one of Guatemalans helping Guatemalans.
Our operations team is all Guatemalan and female. A house mom lives in our center creating a family dynamic for our students, many who are without intact families of their own. In addition to the state-mandated education, our students participate in after-school programming that includes psychology, history, English, international affairs, human rights, meditation, art, homework help, and more!
Our center is a place of laughter, smiles, and inspired dreamers. Our success stories include students finishing college and using their professional lives in service of others. The empowering values fostered at The Integral Heart Family Education Center are transforming the lives of our students by giving them to live the life they dream of living rather than difficulties they were born into. At full capacity our school kitchen can serve 1,500 meals and snacks every month. Additionally, we also provided full/protein rich food baskets to our sponsored families.
Thank you so much for all of your support,
Mick Quinn, Debora Prieto, Luke Armstrong
And all the Staff and Students of
The Integral Heart Family School.
