During the development of the activities in the Juconi environments, 6 project implementers attended the mid-phase workshop to share results with the team of the Monterrey Early Childhood Innovation Accelerator and the Center on the developing child at Harvard University.
In one activity of the family sessions, a girl wanted to make a necklace for her dad, however. Her mum helped her and explained how to do it slowly, mentioning that trying to do it fast prevents her from working correctly. The daughter controlled herself, helped to pick up the materials and continued with the activity. The mother was able to detect the need and provided accompaniment without getting excited.
In another activity, a caregiver is proud of the drawings her daughter makes and puts them aside so she can show them to her husband. At the beginning of the sessions, she mentioned that she could not have the workshop because her daughter was small and could not speak or communicate, but now she takes the apparently shapeless drawing and reinforces the behaviour to her daughter with phrases such as "How beautiful it is" or "do you want us to keep this one for daddy".
During the workshop there is an activity called "the medals" and each member nominates others to win them, for positive attitudes that they notice in them, despite the fact that communication between father and daughters has been complex, both were able to recognise attitudes that they like about their father, and in the image you can read how one of them nominates her father for being "very hard-working, affectionate, playful, because he plays..." among other characteristics.
