We are launching a crowdfunding campaign to repair a building in the Baasir-Shouf, Lebanon, which is threatened with collapse and contains 5 families, including children and widows. The campaign aims to shelter the residents and restore the building in a transparent process that is not linked to any political party.
The building suffers from concrete corrosion, moisture in the walls and traces of mould, rust in iron, damage to basic concrete structures such as columns, and the collapse of some parts. In its current conditions, the building is structurally unstable, and the possibilities of partial collapse are realistic, putting the safety of the residents at high risk.
To help the families who live in the building, first, we will be working on evacuating the building and isolating it from its surroundings. Second, securing temporary housing for the residents. Third, conducting a study of strengthening systems for the building to re-occupy it for housing.
The long-term impact of this campaign is: First, to prevent the deterioration of a building located in Baasir-Shouf in Lebanon and shelter 5 families, including children and widows. Second, to save the lives of these families and support them to find an alternative and temporary occupation.
