Kabita Mondal

Anudip Foundation continues to grow in beneficiaries and geographies served. We are fast approaching the 20,000 mark in terms of livelihoods created, with over 100 start up businesses incubated. Here are case studies of two individuals who attended Anudip's entrepreneur course in a new center at Nagendrapur, in West Bengal, India.

The DREAM program at Nagendrapur, has been conducted at a place that received electric power recently. Course was completed with help of an inverter, arranged by our local NGO partner.

Kabita Mondal is a 27 years old Anudip graduate is physically challenged and a mother of two children. She resides in a very remote village of the South Sunderbans region (world’s largest mangrove delta), 165 km from Kolkata. Kabita’s husband takes her to Anudip center for training by bicycle everyday and Kabita dreams of becoming independent. After completing the IT training on Desktop Publishing, she is confident about starting her own venture in her community. She has decided to take equipment support from Anudip for her business and is very busy setting up the business. She finds herself as a new lady everyday in her busy life.

Tulsi Sardar is a 28 year old lady, an Anudipgraduate from a very poor and deprived family background. Tulsi wants to start her own business to offer IT services to the local community. She joined the Anudip course three months ago and is now getting ready with infrastructure to start her business. Tulsi is planning to open a digital studio and silkscreen printing center. After completing the course, she realized the local demand for IT services in her region, for which people today travel 30 to 40km from the village. Tulsi has applied to Anudip for setting up her business and avail of entrepreneurial support and is getting ready with the infrastructure to start her new venture.
