EMERGENCY APPEAL: Untold Devastation of Himachal

By Mounita Ghosh | Senior Manager, PR & Corporate Communications

HIMACHAL FLOODS: URGENT APPEAL
HIMACHAL FLOODS: URGENT APPEAL

The recent visuals of the Himachal floods are truly terrifying. Reports confirm that thousands in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh have been stranded and isolated in the floods. Torrential downpour and multiple cloudbursts has swollen the rivers Ganga & Yamuna causing unprecedented loss of life, & property along their banks in Himalayan region.

Landslides, and road cave-ins caused the closure of national highways and transportation. This led to disruptions in the supply of essential items in various areas of the hill states, including Shimla and Manali. Additionally, a significant number of transformers, resulting in power outages, and water supply schemes have suffered damage, affecting water supply in several areas.

Flood victims are still facing the dearth of basic necessities like dry rationwater, woolens, blankets, tarpaulins, mosquito nets, utensils, torches & basic medicines.

EMERGENCY RELEIF TASK FORCE

With existing operations in Himachal, our staff is now working as EMERGENCY RELEIF AGENTS mobilizing resources to scan and survey the number of families evacuated from their homes and track the loss of lives and livelihoods. We got in touch with 84 such at-risk families in this crisis who are enduring unprecedented ordeals, facing the risk of hunger, indebtedness and prolonged-insecurity. They need more than just relief aids to resurrect their lives. ANUDIP’s two-fold relief action will enable them get back on their feet, with your support.

  • As an emergency appeal, ANUDIP TASK-FORCE will distribute essential relief material like dry food, basic medicines, torches, baby food, clothes and soap

  • After we distribute the immediate supplies, we will work for their long-term empowerment and rehabilitation of these families

Let us together help those who are in need of our help -the -most.
