The Saúde Criança Association received the ODS (Sustainable Development Objectives) Award in Brazil, as a honorable mention, on December 13, 2018, in a ceremony held at the Palácio do Planalto, in Brasília. The event was held by the Government’s Office of the Presidency of the Republic (SEGOV), which was supported by a network of volunteer institutions and individuals from all the states, during the awarding processes.
Comprised of four categories, the initiative highlights practices related to the contribution of state and municipal governments, for-profit organizations, educational, research and extension institutions. They are aligned with the goals of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
The Saúde Criança Family Action Plan, which has an integral vision of health, is mostly aligned with the ODS goals numbers 1, 3 and 8, since it aims at eradicating poverty in its various forms, promoting entrepreneurship and health by the improvement of the beneficiary families’ living conditions.
