Invisible Illness Data for Millions Worldwide - Q3 2017 Quarterly Report

By Phil Harrington MD | Human Health Project Founder/CEO

Many thanks for donating to HHP's "Invisible Illness Data for Millions Worldwide" crowdfunding campaign. Since our last update, we have been continuing toward completing the initial phases of research and development for each of the invisible illnesses.

Our progress to date:

  • Created five preliminary surveys to identify the needs of people dealing with each of the invisible illnesses
  • Appointed new experienced professionals in marketing and product development
  • Formed a team of evidence-based medicine experts to establish our data guidelines and protocol
  • Recruited additional UX designers to develop the design of our website and display of data
  • Developed UX to include lifetime relationships with HHP survey takers and information seekers
  • Finalized the Lupus study protocol and survey questions

The HHP team has learned a lot from everyone who participated in our initial research, and we will continue to improve our research methods and user experience.

We are also excited to announce we will be launching HHP’s new website this month. The new site will include the finalized Lupus survey which will start collecting data for our Lupus research. Our Migraine reports will also be enhanced. Close to 50 new reports have been added to the site, including reports on demographics, treatment side effects, costs, and many more. We will soon be adding similar reports for Lupus which we will display on the HHP website along with our migraine reports.

The next phase of our work will focus on the creation of surveys we will conduct for the other four invisible illnesses, and the continued development of the user experience for HHP’s site visitors. A new GlobalGiving microproject campaign will fund this next phase of our Invisible Illness research. We will be in touch to let you know prior to its launch.

Your contributions enable us to continue creating the most comprehensive data collection tools to learn about the needs of individuals with invisible illnesses. We hope you will continue to support our mission to help those seeking accurate and objective information about their health conditions.

As one of our survey respondents commented, “This is the first complete survey that I have found.” It is these comments that motivate us, and give meaning to what we do.

For people struggling with invisible illnesses, it often seems like no one understands. Thank you for understanding.
