This project did not raise any funds yet we continue our work to improve the lives of women impacted by domestic violence and trauma through our offering of emergency shelter and support services. We hope you will consider a gift in the future to make sure every survivor who chooses to leave a violent relationship as they seek a Safe Place to Begin Again here at the West.
"There is no doubt that my life would be different if I hadn’t gained access to shelter and housing- we, my family would have still be “out there”, alone, and further victimized- possibly separated. There are so many more women and families that are still suffering and drowning like I was once- if only they had the same chance. One of the main reasons, I am continuing my education and advocating for these housing programs is because I look forward to gaining my independence, supporting my own household without housing assistance and passing the baton to the next family. There are many women like me in the West’s Women’s program and elsewhere- all working very hard to recreate and rebuild… in any case, each situation is complex and deservers validation." past resident of The West
