National YoungArts Foundation identifies the most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary and performing arts, and provides them with creative and professional development opportunities throughout their careers.
NFAA is the only organization in the United States that provides a variety of programs and monetary awards to young artists in all artistic disciplines. Your contribution to YoungArts helps provide these emerging young artists with life-changing experiences and validation by renowned mentors, access to significant scholarships, national recognition. In a society that tends to tell artists to "be realistic," YoungArts encourages talented young artists to pursue careers in the arts.
Each year, approximately 11,000 students apply for the YoungArts program. Approximately 800 of these applicants are honored as YoungArts Winners and receive monetary awards. Out of the 800 YoungArts Winners, approximately 170 YoungArts winners are chosen as YoungArts Finalists, and share in a total benefits package valued at $1 million that includes an all-expenses paid trip to Miami, FL for workshops, master classes, performance and exhibition opportunities, networking and more.
For over 33 years, NFAA has honored and awarded more than 20,000 young American artists with over $6 million in monetary awards and $150 million in college scholarship opportunities. Many former YoungArts Winners, including actress Kerry Washington, singer Josh Groban, and dancer Desmond Richardson, have gone on to have extremely successful careers in the arts.
