Project Update: Infant and Mother Health in High Arsenic Areas. October 2017
Although all the filters have been distributed and trainings have been completed we are still waiting for the second checkup for the infants and young children. Since May the country has been crippled by road closures before the elections, then the terrible monsoon rains in August which destroyed crops, farms, initiated landslides and killed over 1,000 people in South Asia. Some people in the Terai are restarting lives after completely loosing homes, food, clothing and farms. This year’s Dashain holiday will be dimmed this year by the many people rebuilding but thankful for the lives that were saved. We plan to begin the check-ups after the New Year. (see photos )
