INDIGENOUS WOMEN UNITED FOR RECONSTRUCTION
The COVID 19 pandemic hits our Country, our state of Oaxaca and has reached the Mixe Region, which has forced us to control entry and exit to our community to keep ourselves safe.
Despite everything, this situation has given us the opportunity to apply what we have learned so far and organize ourselves to take care of health, food and take preventive measures.
The production of food in a healthy way has been important, as well as advancing the cultivation of cocoa in our nursery, and as soon as the plants are ready, we have taken them to the plantation in the field. We hope they grow and adapt very well, since they were born here.
The CODICE team has strengthened its ties with organizations and networks to generate information that supports the communities and make visible the problems that are often left out of the forecasts and programs that are generally designed.
CODICE has been accompanying us to have information about the pandemic, inviting us to spend time preparing ourselves within our families, learning more about how to defend ourselves against this threat, improving our health and taking other measures for the care of all family and community members.
