3rd Report June 2019
During this period we have been advancing in our project, in the work plan that we set out.
The group of thirty families, mainly women, participated in the training in the management and maintenance of wood-saving stoves and ecological baths, as other families have had an interest and have expanded their knowledge with practice.
In the case of vegetables, we have developed natural compounds for the prevention and control of pests and diseases, since we want them to remain healthy and toxic-free. These activities were carried out with the support of children, since they were found on vacation and that helped them to participate and make it very lively.
We are interested in preparing more nutritious foods, with vegetables and the Creole corn that we sow and for this we have cooked together sharing our recipes.
With the support received we have bought seeds, some tools and chicken mesh to fence the orchards and thus be more protected.
We meet regularly to exchange experiences, review progress, receive advice and plan the activities we want to carry out. It is important to mention that the sessions and trainings are conducted in Spanish and in mixe, since the technical partners of the CODICE team are from the region and that makes good communication.
