April Update Report - “Jam Tour”

By Fernanda Uro Aboites | GlobalGiving Project Coordinator

Countryside in Oaxaca
Countryside in Oaxaca

We spent April traveling the Mexican countryside looking for new groups interested in forming microenterprises. Due to the huge success of the “Tía Lore” guava jam sales, we traveled to remote areas in the State of Oaxaca, as well as in Hidalgo and Michoacán, where people are excited to begin making products such as other flavors or jam to promote the development of their communities.

We are also very excited because “Tía Lore” jams produced by female entrepreneurs in Oaxaca are in stock and on sale in Walmarts in Mexico. Soon they will be in Walmart’s “Superama” supermarkets as well. Not in Mexico? Tell any friends or family here in Mexico City to add Tía Lore guava jam to their grocery list!

You can also support these women’s microenterprises by signing up to make a recurring donation by May 20th and help us win one of the prices that sum up to $2,000 dollars. Keep supporting us, and let’s make Mexican women a role model for entrepreneurs everywhere!
