At a crucial time in the history of Colombia's war for peace, we aim to facilitate peace-building processes by empowering pre-existing community organizations with the skills they need to spend their resources most effectively to stamp out violence and crime and create peaceful communities in the Comunas of Medellin most affected by conflict.
Peace-building processes are hindered by the absence of indicators for peace-building i.e. exactly which factors need to be confronted by a given project in order to yield the desired progress. Furthermore, for those organizations concerned with peace-building, lack of collection and organization of data overtime makes it difficult to tell which efforts have actually worked and which haven't. Without such information money and time are wasted.
E2E seeks to improve the efficiency of projects focused on peace-building by giving community organizations the skills to analyze their own programs. Alongside these local partners we will survey members of Comunas 1, 3, and 5, to collect indicators and then establish a publicly accessible database. Our efforts will improve upon the knowledge base of peace-building and conflict resolution in Medellin, enabling organizations to make informed decisions and not waste precious time and money.
Our efforts will empower community organizations, allowing them to maximize their impact and minimize the resources needed to do so. This will yield projects of greater benefit to society that successfully solve the problems they purport to solve. We will ultimately create a safer Medellin, allowing communities to live in peace and individuals to reach their full potential without fear of harm.
