Torrential rains have inundated India. Families have been displaced and their lives washed away in the flood waters. They will return home in a few days and their food is either gone or destroyed. There is no work to earn money and they will spend their days repairing their home and cleaning away mud from every nook and corner.
When you help with their immediate need for food, you provide them more than just something to eat, you give them the capacity to restore their homes. They are not searching for their next meal but they can use their time to bring order to the chaos that the flooding has caused. Proper nutrition will provide them with the ability to fight off disease which comes after the flooding.
After the flood waters retreat we return to the village and provide training to improve community health and where needed we install a safe water source.
