CHCS intends to start a new project titled "Income Generation Scheme for Women of Thar". In this scheme, the Goats will be provided to the women of Thar which on one hand will provide fresh milk to the children and on the other hand will be a source of income generation as the goats breed twice in a year and within two years the women getting one goat will own three to four goats which will definitely serve as source of income generation for the family.
The Tharparkar District located in Sindh Province of Pakistan, spreads over 27,000 Sq. Kms. is a chronically poor area with an estimated population of 1.7 million. Thar is part of Pakistan which is often hit by drought as there are no rains over the years and shortage of water is the main concern which leads to malnutrition, disease and eventually culminating in death also as is evident from the news of deaths of infants/ children every year. Furthermore, Women have no source of income.
