Warm greetings from The Teacher Foundation (TTF)!
We would like to thank all our donors who have supported The Inclusive Teacher Project.
This to inform, for the year 2019-2020 the funds raised for The Inclusive Teacher Project will be utilized to support our Coaching for School Success (CFSS) project at Haveri. The aim of CFSS is to "seed" every government school with Competent and motivated in-house coaches. Therefore 2 senior teachers in each school (the headteacher and one other teacher) are selected and taken through a 150 hours rigorous coaching programme conducted by TTF
The Teacher Foundation has implemented CFSS programme in Haveri and Yadgiri districts for the past 3 years, and in Doddaballapur taluk of Bengaluru Rural district in the year 2018-19. It has been a very successful programme across all 3 locations with a total coverage of 243 coaches and 289 coachees. A third party evaluation of TTF's CFSS was recently concluded by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).
Please refer to Annexure 1 - TISS findings and recommendations
In June 2019, The District Institute for Education and Training (DIET), Haveri has requested The Teacher Foundation to implement the programme for a new set of 15 schools, covering 15 Head Teachers and 15 Assistant Teachers. TTF has therefor decided to utilise the funds from Global Giving to support 30 teachers from 15 government primary schools in Shiggaon taluk of Haveri district.
A positive impact of the CFSS program was visible to varying degrees in classrooms observed and among the teachers surveyed. This can be attributed to the combination of elements that make the program dynamic, relevant and useful to experienced as well as novice teachers. In this section we briefly highlight components of the program that have been effective and appreciated by participants, and therefore must be continued. We also highlight gaps in the program design that TTF must take into consideration and reflect on. Working within a public system of education, it is inevitable that there will be multiple tensions and pressure points for TTF staff as well as the schools within which CFSS tries to take root. It is therefore important that there is collective and collaborative deliberation between TTF and the government to address issues of sustainability and impact."
We have faith that our loyal donors will support us in the same way, they have been supporting us on
The Inclusive Teacher Project.
We will keep you posted on the progress of the Project..
Thanks & Regards
Suresh Babu
