After being completely destroyed by an enemy strike in 2022, the Inclusive Resource Center "Without Borders" in Derhachi was created by the Foundation and reopened its doors for offline classes for children with special educational needs. Now we are striving to expand the Center: create new spaces for classes with the Center's specialists and provide professionals with the necessary equipment to work with children.
Thousands of Ukrainian children have lost access to education and support due to the war. This has especially affected children with special educational needs, for whom live communication and individual assistance are critically important. In Derhachi, Kharkiv region, a missile strike destroyed the only Inclusive Resource Center that provided support to such children. Currently, there are about 200 children with special educational needs and a need of a safe space for learning and development.
The project involves expanding the Inclusive Resource Center "Without Borders" in Derhachi: renovation and arrangement of additional spaces in the basement, purchase of specialized equipment and materials. This will allow providing high-quality corrective assistance to a larger number of children with special needs, ensuring stable offline support, and creating a safe environment for development.
The expansion of the IRC "Without Borders" will ensure sustainable and high-quality support for children with special educational needs in the Derhachi community. The center will become the only safe and accessible space for regular offline classes that meet the needs of children. This will create conditions for their deeper social integration, improve their emotional and mental well-being, and contribute to the formation of confidence, independence, and active participation in community life.
