Nurturing Potential at Aasra Home for Boys

Holistic Development Through Education

Education remains a cornerstone of the Aasra Home mission, empowering all 45 boys with tailored learning opportunities:

  • Formal Schooling: 33 children attended regular schools.
  • Non-Formal Learning: 07 children engaged in alternative education programs.
  • NIOS Enrollment: 05 children accessed flexible education through the National Institute of Open Schooling.

Empowering Activities and Celebrations

  1. Cherishing Special Moments

    • Birthday Celebrations: Personalized celebrations created lasting memories for the boys.
    • Children’s Day Celebration: Fun-filled activities like music and art added joy to the special day.
  2. Skill Development and Workshops

    • WeLive Foundation Training: Focused on holistic life transitions for 16+ children.
    • English Language Classes: Regular sessions to enhance communication skills for older boys.
    • Aavishkar Teacher Training: Innovative teaching techniques shared with staff in Palampur.
  3. Caring and Counseling Initiatives

    • Child Restoration: One boy reunited with his family, ensuring the right to care and belonging.
    • Career Counseling: Psychometric assessments and workshops guided children toward meaningful futures.
  4. Community Engagement and Sports

    • Special Olympic Participation: Four boys showcased their talents in Bocce and bowling events.
    • SOLE Volunteer Program: Culminated in collaborative artwork and feedback sessions.
  5. Partnerships for Progress

    • DCPU Visit: Management review by the District Child Protection Unit of South West Delhi.
    • Pallavan Engagement: NFE teaching strategies were shared with staff and children.
