The challenges encountered by children with special needs in attaining classroom education are considerable, particularly in numerous schools across India, where these children frequently face isolation and exclusion from their peers. Such exclusion can have a profound impact on their development and psychological well-being, consequently affecting their personalities and future opportunities. These barriers endure from primary education through to higher education in India.

In response to this critical issue, we established an inclusive school aimed at providing quality education for rural, economically disadvantaged children with physical disabilities. Our institution facilitates the integration of these children with their peers in a supportive learning environment. What commenced as a modest school with a handful of students under a thatched roof in 1981 has since evolved to offer education up to the higher secondary level, currently enrolling 706 students.

Throughout the years, our inclusive Siva Saraswati Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School has successfully supported numerous students who have gone on to pursue higher education and build careers as lawyers, call center operators, and professionals in both governmental and private sectors. The challenges faced by children with special needs in accessing classroom education are significant, particularly in many schools in India, where these children often experience isolation and exclusion from their peers.
