GlobalGiving Report
January - March 2025
Background
The International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP) joined GlobalGiving in August 2024. Prior to this ISWP had generated minimal donations and recognised the need to increase our storytelling aspect to assist in generating revenue to support our goal of ‘Wheelchair users and their families having access to appropriate wheelchairs and services within an empowering and supportive environment.’
In January we were informed that our primary donor, USAID, would be cutting our funding as per US President’s Executive Order on Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid, dated January 20, 2025. On the 10th of March we unfortunately received notification from UNOPS of the official termination of the Grant Support Agreement effective within 14 days which equates to the majority of ISWP's funding.
ISWP’s Board has met and we are currently looking at significant donors and funding bodies to support. ISWP’s community is not as familiar with GlobalGiving and hence we have not been directing funding toward this platform.
Donations for January – March 2025
ISWP has generated funding from other resources during this period but have not received any funding through GlobalGiving as we have focused on other revenue streams through this period.
Next Steps for ISWP

We have engaged with a social media expert who is also assisting us in creating a more consistent marketing campaign that has also focused on Memberships as well as a Donation drive. Throughout this period ISWP has also increased the number of individuals with Basic Certification in a number of countries including Kenya, Ukraine, Zimbabwe and Egypt and assists us in achieving our vision and mission to improve appropriate wheelchair provision globally.
