This project aims at improving hygiene and sanitation situation for school children by promoting hand washing after use of latrines.
This project will involve harvesting rain water from roofs and storing it in a plastic tank near the children's latrine. It will also entail constructing one washing shelter for adolescent girls where they will be able to change clothes and clean themselves during their periods. The process will include installing gutters on the roofs of the teachers' houses close to the latrines. Prospective positive impact of project Consistent and organized cleaning and maintenance of latrines/toilets, hand washing and drinking water facilities by all children; Older children will understand their roles to help and monitor younger children in using facilities and maintaining school cleanliness
Sustainability The school has already existing management structures which help to supervise and maintain school facilities as they are acquired. The school also relies on children who are the direct beneficiaries and are always trained on how to handle school facilities which they use for their education. We therefore believe that in using this style we will be able to maintain and sustain the facility
