El proyecto del secador forma parte de un proyecto mayor llamado FORESTPLAZA ASIREA, en el que se pretende establecer un complejo especializado en la venta de productos y servicios vinculados a la producción forestal y la agroindustria.
El proyecto es un uno de los objetivos de ASIREA en su búsqueda por crear posibilidades para la comercialización directa de madera entre productores y consumidor final, eliminando parte de la cadena de intermediación y así propiciar que el productor reciba un pago justo por su madera o productos derivados.
Este es un proyecto de impacto social y económico para la zona de Pococí y alrededores, por lo que se busca el apoyo que otros actores, tanto gubernamentales como privados.
Inicialmente ASIREA previó el establecimiento de un secador solar con capacidad para 7 m3 de madera, sin embargo tomando en cuenta el clima de la zona, el tiempo del proceso entre otros el diseño final contempla la construcción de un secador híbrido.

Initially, ASIREA planned the establishment of a solar dryer with a capacity for 7 m3 of wood, however, taking into account the climate of the area, the time of the process, among other things, the final design contemplates the construction of a hybrid dryer.
