Improving lives with value added wood, Costa Rica

Many changes, that are great ones!

Our new BOARD
Our new BOARD

This year, has been a hard one for most people, our organization has not been the exception. Due to severe budget limitations and the unsustaiability of many of out activities during COVID, we lost three co/workers and this of course impaired our ability to do fundraising.

We are deeply sorry for this. But, we have not lost our will to continue our very important work. We just changed our board and shortly are working with the Technological institute of Costa Rica, to measure our plantations and speak to each one of our constituents to mark out a new path in this changing world.

Our new Board with optimistic people  are going to start work inmediatly with our new Five Year Plan, and we are super excited about that! We will refresh our whole organization with new ideas, projects, and strategies in favor of local reforestation.

Also, even in this crisis, and maybe especially so...The Ministry of Agriculture and the Institute of Rural Development are both giving us a hand to rebuild our nursery , which we intend to relocate close to our offices.

And this leads us to our solar wood dryer/ where we are still saving up every penny our donors send towards this goal which is still relevant to us and the wood farmers who still aspire to selling wood at better prices, ever more than before.

Costa Rica has taken a hard hit economically, like many countries. 25% of our work force is out of work which means many families are struggling.

We still believe and hope and work towards this goal of financially viable reforestation so please, please, plaese, if you can,  continue to asist us on this path, which is one of production with decarbonization.

Finally, may your holidays be filled with peace, but especially with JOY. The planet is changing we hope, not to become "'normal" again...but to be safer and healthier for all beings.   Wishing you a great Christmas.
