The cooperative in action: contigence of COVID-19

By Scheherezada | Project Leader

As as consequence of the COVI-19 health contingency, the Cooperative Tzeltal-Tzotzil suspended some activities that involved direct contact with large number of persons.

However, in collaboration with NGOimpacto, the team developed broadcast material to share information with the community about this delicate moment we are living. This material was produced in tseltal and tsotsil, the two main languages spoken by members of the cooperative and people in the community of the region. It was spread through Whatsapp groups and facebook contacts.

The first video was about: How to prevent COVID-19? (Health security measures), Another video was to talk about important new data that was given by going to phase 3.

Graphic material was also provided by official health insitutuion, our team took care of the translation and difusion. We hope to continue this work online to protect our families.

We are living a unique momento, so our daily lives have been affected, but we have not stopped sharing and working to help the peoplo of our community.

Team,

Cooperativa Tzeltal-Tzotzil
