Girls at their New working place
Girls at their New working place

Rosena  and Leah some of the last cohort of Mrembo pastry, baking and catering vocational training graduates working at their first and new place, Bridges organic restaurant. Fully empowered with health and economic life skills  through their commitment with VAP programs for the last couple of months in their respective schools and off the school, they are  now ready to tackle the new world of economic building that’s ahead of their life. ”Am happy for my first job as a and I can’t wait to support my mother and our younger siblings.” Said Leah, the firstborn in her 4 member family.

                       Photocopy Training

Armed with brand new cameras donated by lensational,15 girls from VAP programs underwent through photography and videography training courtesy of a partnership between VAP and lensational. The trainings which were led  and supported by 2 representatives from lensational organization covered a wide range of photography and videography techniques including: composition, framing ,etc. Once equipped with the right techniques, the girls will be allowed to share their unheard stories, gain confidence and develop a base of strength. As one of the emerging vocational training courses which was largely rated by an internal vocational training courses survey conducted by VAP’s football based program participants and M&E staff, Photography is one of the vocational training courses to be integrated into VAP as a pathway towards economic empowerment of the youth once they graduate from football based life skills programs.
