IMPROVE SCHOOL FOR 700 DOMINICAN STUDENTS IN NEED

Dear donors, may you receive our cordial greeting. We are very glad to inform to you that we continue making our best efforts to accomplish our objective of improving the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School in the community of Veron, your contribution is definitely a very important component in our achievements.

We are in the developing stages of our project. The details are the following:

• A new fence was built in the school, please see pictures attached.

• We placed two new iron doors at the entrance of the school , please see pictures attached

• We are planning to prepare an area in the courtyard for the practice of golf, football and athletics. In fact the staff in charge is working on the budget  

• We are still involved in the alliance negotiation process with a recognized organization, in order to design and implement a suitable and innovative educational program, which would make a big difference in the methodology of teaching. 

• On January 2014, we started the new English Language Improvement Program with the 8th graders of basic school and the 1st graders of high school, as part of the first stage of the program. The performance of the teachers and the students is closely supervised by an expert advisor in English language teaching. The program uses modern techniques, giving teachers the needed tools to do their job in the best possible way. At this moment the progress of the students is really evident, our goal is that they are fully bilingual so they can have better opportunities to positively change their lives. ON THE ROAD

Dear donors, may you receive a warm greeting. We are delighted to inform to you that, thanks to your help, we continue to achieving our goal of improving the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School in the community of Veron.

We are in the developing stages of our project. The details are the following:

• The remodeling of the outdoor cafeteria is done, which includes the expansion of the storage area and the food sale area, besides we replaced the ceiling. Please see attached pictures.
• The remodeling of the administrative building is done too, which includes a comfortable new meeting room for the teachers, two new offices (for the Educational Coordinator and the Counselor) and some new furniture too. Please see attached pictures.
• We are involved in the process of establising an alliance with a reliable and recognized organization, in order  to design and implement an integral educational program on early next year (consultant and trainers included), which will improve the teaching methods of the school in a various ways.
• We selected a program named English by Inmmersion, with the aim to begin the implementation with the 8th grade of basic school and the 1st grade of high school, starting on January 2014, as part of the first stage of the program.
• We hired an expert in English language teaching  who will oversee the perfomance of the English teachers for three months, among other responsibilities.
• We bought the English books to be used by the students in the fisrt stage of the program

Dear donors, may you receive a cordial greeting. We are delighted to inform you  that, thanks to your contribution, we are going forward with our project of improving the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School in the community of Veron.

We are in the developing stages of our project. The details are the following:

• The remodeling of the outdoor cafeteria is almost done, which includes the expansion of the storage area and food sale area, besides the new ‘’aluzinc’’ ceiling, that is more durable.. Please see attached the related pictures.
• The remodeling of the administrative building is almost done, which includes a new meeting room for teachers, two new offices (for the Educational Coordinator and the Educational Counselor) and some new furniture too.  Please see attached related pictures.
•  In  the upcoming months we will restart the recruitment process of the educational consultant, who will work on the improvement of the teaching methods of the school. This professional should fulfill our requirements in terms of capability and the available budget of our project.
• We reinitiated together with our staff the evaluating process of the training proposals to improve the teaching and learning of English language in our school.

In the months to come we will keep you updated on the progress of our project, we remain at your disposal for any information or clarification you might need.

We are in the developing stages of our project, specifically we are involved in the following:

• We have completed the installation of the Wi-Fi internet service and the new 20 desktop computers (previously purchased). The internet service is currently available in all internal and external areas of the school.
• After evaluating several proposals, we have selected the contractor for the expansion of the outdoor cafeteria and the administrative offices in order to start the constructions in the upcoming days.
• We placed a new convenient storage unit (container style) in the inner courtyard.

• Installing Wi-Fi internet service,  which will be available in all internal and external areas of the school
• Evaluating the proposals of the contractors and suppliers in order to start the expansion of the outdoor cafeteria, the administrative offices and the placement of a new storage-unit building
• Selecting an expert consultant in education issues who fulfill our requirements, to improve the skills and knowledge of our teachers.
• Selecting together with our staff the best training proposal to improve the teaching and learning of English language.
