IMPROVE SCHOOL FOR 700 DOMINICAN STUDENTS IN NEED

Dear donors, may you receive our warmest greeting. We continue focused on our objective of getting better life conditions for the students and all of the members of the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School in the community of Veron, through the improvement of this educational center.

Your support has made the difference in this process !.

We are involved in the developing stages of our project. The details are the following:

• We already have a collaboration agreement with the renowned national institution named Educa (Business Action for Education), therefore we will be developing the first stage of the program “Quisqueya cree en Ti” (*Quisqueya trust you) in the upcoming months in order to promote actions that foment the equal participation of youth of both genders in the field of education and their inclusion in the labour market.
• We are painting all the facilities of the school as well as purchasing two projectors (speakers included) for the presentations at the classrooms, three air conditioning systems for the administrative offices and another moveable warehouse.

*Note: Quisqueya was the name given to our country by our primitive indigenous inhabitants

• The preparation of the courtyard for the practice of golf, football and athletics has begun. Please see two pictures attached.
•  Also we are working on a collaboration agreement with a renowned national institution, which will allow us to enhance the scope of the technical training programs and promote the employability of the young graduates, thus meeting the needs of our tourist zone in terms of personnel. This project will have its own office at our school.
•  The new English Program continues going very well, the students has improved greatly their English language skills. Please see one pictured attached.

We are involved in the developing stages of our project. The details are the following:

• The preparation of the courtyard for the practice of golf, football and athletics will begin in the upcoming days given that the logistical aspects have been finally defined.
• We are making our best efforts to seek a Consultant that will help us with the Improvements to the Educational Methodologies Program. We will continue evaluating proposals until we find one that suits our needs and requirements in terms of cost and efectiveness.  
• The new English Program is going very well, the progress of our students is remarkable. 
• We have fisnished the reinforcement of the side fences, the remodelation of the parking lot (by placing new concrete tire stoppers) and the painting of the movable classrooms, where some of the technical trainings take place.

We are involved in the developing stages of our project. The details are the following:

• We purchased new classroom and outdoor chairs, after the evaluation  of the furniture needs
• The preparation of the courtyard for the practice of golf, football and athletics will be take place in the upcoming months, after the evaluation of the budget. Some logistical aspects should be defined.
• We had a productive meeting with the members of the Education Faculty of INTEC University, one of the most renowned in the country, in order to hire the consultant that will help us with the implementation of  the Improvements to the Educational Methodologies Program.
• We are very optimistic with the English program, which is going well, according to our plans. The expert professional (hired previously) is on charge of it, he is teaching and overseeing the program too, besides a new English teacher has been hired to enhance the performance of the students.
• We are reinforcing the front and side fence in order to improve the security of the school.

Dear donors, we hope this message finds you very well. We are delighted to inform to you that we continue tirelessly and enthusiastically working to accomplish our objective of improving even more the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School in the community of Veron, in benefit of our students in need.

You are definitively the catalysts of our project, without your outstanding contribution we would have taken much more time to achieve our goal.

We are involved in the developing stages of our project. The details are the following:

• All the facilities have been painted
• We are renovating the courtyard and the gardens.
• We are purchasing new school chairs and outdoors chairs as well, after evaluating the furniture needs
• We received for evaluation the budget of the preparation of the courtyard for the practice of golf, football and athletics. This program is aimed to the students be part of the sporting world, while improving their physical conditions, concentration and discipline skills.
• We are still involved in the negotiation process with a recognized organization, in order to implement a suitable educational program which would improve the teaching methodology of our school.
• In order to continue with our English Language Improvement Program, we are buying new books and learning materials for the students to be used in the upcoming scholar year. The performance of the teachers and the students will continue to be closely monitored by an expert advisor in English language teaching, also we hired an additional English Language teacher who has remarkable expertise and skills.
