Dear friends,

Herewith we send you are final report of the health project “Improve nutrition of 150 children in Cusco” which you have supported during the execution period: January - December 2014.

 MAIN RESULTS PROJECT

  • The end result in relation with the start of the project shows a 16% diminishing of malnourished children (59% at the start, 43% at the end).
  • 105 children of the total child population maintained or improved the nutrition level at the end of the project.
  • 70 children with malnutrition problems have improved the consumption of food.
  • Reduction of 90 children with problems of common diseases.
  • 80 mothers have access to medical checks on basic health care for women.
  • 80 mothers received twice a month consultancy visits in health, nutrition and small businesses.
  • 90 mothers and children have access to and use of the social health care insurance SIS for poor people.
  • 70 families improved their household sanitation and hygiene.
  • 21 of the trained mothers in business have started their own business.
  • 27 of the trained mothers in business have improved their own business.
  • 42 families have vegetable gardens installed and use their own vegetables for consumption.
  • 43 group training sessions were given in health and nutrition topics (90 mothers trained).
  • 45 group training sessions were given in starting and improving small businesses (109 mothers trained).

Thanks to you we were able to help the population of Cusco to diminish malnutrition of their young children. Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to help the vulnerable population of the suburbs of Cusco.

As from the 14 of April 2015 we have started the campaign for a new pilot project “Safe Water for Malnourished Children in Cusco”. We hope to interest you for this new project with emphasis to improve the health of 50 undernourished children by offering them safe water in Cusco, Peru.
