This project will improve nutrition for 1,000 pregnant women in Ghana by providing access to nutritious food support, prenatal nutrition education, and essential health services. Many pregnant women in low-income and rural communities suffer from poor nutrition, increasing the risk of complications during pregnancy and childbirth. This project will help mothers maintain healthier pregnancies and improve outcomes for both women and their babies.
Malnutrition among pregnant women remains a serious public health challenge in Ghana, particularly in underserved communities. Limited access to nutritious food, poverty, and inadequate health education contribute to anemia, low birth weight, pregnancy complications, and increased maternal and infant mortality. Many women are unable to meet the nutritional needs required for a healthy pregnancy.
This project will provide nutritional support packages, prenatal health education, supplements, and maternal health monitoring for 1,000 pregnant women. Community outreach and healthcare partnerships will help ensure women receive guidance on healthy nutrition and access to essential prenatal care throughout pregnancy.
The project will improve maternal health, reduce pregnancy-related complications, and support healthier births. Women will gain better knowledge about maternal nutrition and healthier practices for themselves and their children. Over time, this project will contribute to reduced maternal and infant mortality and stronger community health outcomes.
