By Kibwiika Joseph | Project Leader
Dear GlobalGiving team and supporters,
We are grateful for the opportunity to update you on our ongoing project aimed at providing reusable menstrual pads to 2,000 schoolgirls in the rural Kamuli district of eastern Uganda. This initiative is vital to promote menstrual hygiene, restore dignity and help girls attend school without interruption due to their menstrual cycle.
Since the launch of the project, our team at Aim Born Champions Children Africa (ABCCA) has been actively involved in community mobilization, awareness raising and implementation planning. We have worked closely with schools and local leaders to identify the most vulnerable girls and prepare them for the training and support they will receive.
However, we admit that our fundraising efforts have been challenging. Of the $25,000 goal, we have only raised $75.22 so far. Although this is far short of our goal, we remain committed and optimistic.
We are aware of the urgent need and are working hard to reach at least half of the goal so that we can start implementing the first phase of the project. This includes the distribution of sanitary pad kits, education on menstrual hygiene and training in the production of reusable pads from locally available materials.
We sincerely thank our donors for the generous support we have received so far. Every contribution brings us closer to transforming the lives of these girls and ensuring that they do not have to miss out on their education because of their menstruation.
Apology and statement of commitment:
We apologize to all our supporters and the GlobalGiving team for the delay in submitting this report. We recognize the importance of timely communication and are taking steps to ensure regular updates in the future. Your patience, understanding and continued support mean a great deal to us.
With gratitude,
Kibwiika Joseph,
Executive Director/ Project Leader,
Aim Born Champions Children Africa (ABCCA).
