Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) works to fight hunger and malnutrition through training and support, to empower households, transform food system and ensures community buy-in to achieve food security and enhance livelihoods. As the year wraps up, IAA is preparing to continue creating impact even more in 2024 across Cameroon.
IAA has established an agroecology demonstration farm in Kumbo, Northwest Region of Cameroon; within the framework of this project with donation made through GlobalGiving and support from the local community. IAA have planted tomatoes on a small portion of the 4 hectare plot to teach farmers how to grow tomatoes and vegetables naturally. The proceed from the farm will be used to grow the project and multiply the seeds to distribute to disadvantage farmers free of charge. In the next planting season, IAA will plant maize, beans, soy-beans and fruit trees like paw-paw and oranges on the 4 hectare plot which will serve as a practical demonstration farm for smallholder farmers, researchers and women on ecological farming. IAA will use the farm to provide hands-on garden and ecological learning experience to the host community and other neighboring villages.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
