Project Report | Dec 29, 2023
DEMONSTRATION FARM

By Dungrila Pascal Mbimenyuy. | I.A.A Director/Project Leader.

Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) works to fight hunger and malnutrition through training and support, to empower households, transform food system and ensures community buy-in to achieve food security and enhance livelihoods. As the year wraps up, IAA is preparing to continue creating impact even more in 2024 across Cameroon.

IAA has established an agroecology demonstration farm in Kumbo, Northwest Region of Cameroon; within the framework of this project with donation made through GlobalGiving and support from the local community. IAA have planted tomatoes on a small portion of the 4 hectare plot to teach farmers how to grow tomatoes and vegetables naturally. The proceed from the farm will be used to grow the project and multiply the seeds to distribute to disadvantage farmers free of charge. In the next planting season, IAA will plant maize, beans, soy-beans and fruit trees like paw-paw and oranges on the 4 hectare plot which will serve as a practical demonstration farm for smallholder farmers, researchers and women on ecological farming. IAA will use the farm to provide hands-on garden and ecological learning experience to the host community and other neighboring villages.

As a generous IAA's supporter, we know you’re passionate about creating change by unleashing the power of giving and support to enable grassroots organizations, transform the food system and build food security and economic development in their communities. We need to raise $10,000 by the end of January 2024 and you may consider to make a donation to our project now through GlobalGiving.
It is unacceptable for people to continue facing the challenges of food insecurity, water crisis, lack of quality education and opportunities, poor health, gender inequality, climate change and more, “change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.” The communities we serve suffer from the biggest challenges of our time, working to foster communities rooted in shared values, where all people belong, participate, live well and thrive. That’s the kind of future we want and that’s the kind of innovation you support us to do. We are looking forward to 2024 with enthusiasm, hope and energy to achieve more than what we did in 2023.

Thank you for giving back to push change forward and improve the living conditions of the under-served communities in Cameroon by being part of IAA's supporter and donor community.
