Project Update:
In 2024, GMEF partnered with rural communities to construct 109 family bathrooms and 4 school bathrooms—each one a step toward improved health, dignity, and safety. These facilities were prioritized by local leaders and built with the input and participation of community members, reflecting their vision for a healthier environment.
Access to safe sanitation reduces the spread of disease, supports menstrual hygiene, and creates safer, more inclusive spaces—especially for girls attending school. In many communities, families shared that the new bathrooms have already improved daily routines and contributed to a stronger sense of pride and well-being.
In 2025, we will collaborate with three additional communities to support bathroom construction for approximately 100 more families. This work continues to be shaped by local priorities and grounded in community leadership.
