Summary

Voy con Vos is a Civil Association that since 2007 makes it possible for children and young people from vulnerable rural areas to access quality education and finish high school, a basic right that is infringed for many youngsters in Argentina. We believe that education is an essential factor in achieving equal opportunities. Whoever has access to this fundamental right has the opportunity to project himself, make decisions with greater freedom and define his future.

Challenge

Young people living in rural areas of Chaco face huge challenges to pursue secondary education. Amongst them are: the lack of secondary schools nearby, the great distances and time for commuting (30 to 40kms daily in some cases, of dirt roads), the low socio economic levels of the families and communities, and the fact that, in most cases, young scholars are the first person in their family with the possibility of accessing secondary education.

Solution

The program seeks to promote education in young people, accompanying them to continue their studies in the nearest town. This is done through the total financing of their studies and the involvement of their families as fundamental actors in their education and the personalized follow up done by our team of tutors. The tutoring has proven essential in ensuring the permanence of students in high school, as each young person is accompanied academically and emotionally.

Long-Term Impact

Accessing and finishing high school will be fundamental for our young scholars to choose their future and break the cycle of poverty for them, their families and communities. It enables them to attain tools to have freedom of choice, whether it might be to pursue further studies, develop their professional career, undertake a productive project or entrepreneurship, as well as being an example to other young people.
