AGAPE HAND AND REFOREST TREES works with vulnerable rural communities in Peru to improve access to safe drinking water and sanitation through sustainable, community-led solutions. By strengthening local systems and working with community partners, the project aims to support safer living conditions, protect health, and promote lasting access to safe water.
Rural communities in Peru face barriers to accessing safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. In some remote areas, water collection and storage practices may expose families to contamination. Limited access to safe water and appropriate hygiene practices can affect health, daily living conditions, and community well-being. Addressing these challenges is essential to building healthier and more resilient communities.
AGAPE HAND AND REFOREST TREES will work with rural communities and local partners in Peru to promote sustainable access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. Activities will focus on community-led water solutions, appropriate purification and filtration measures, safe water storage, and hygiene education, according to local needs. Community participation will help support the long-term use of these solutions.
The project aims to benefit 3,150 people in rural communities in Peru through improved access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. Over the long term, safer water practices and community participation can help reduce exposure to water contamination and support healthier living conditions. Strengthening local partnerships and sustainable water solutions can help communities maintain these improvements beyond the project period.
