We have a team (of volunteers) on the ground in Houston and have appointed community leader Mrs. Lisa Forney, Vice Principal of Cardiff Junior High in Katy, Houston, as our Project Leader. 39,000 people lost their homes. Phase one of this project was meeting basic needs (blankets, soap), phase two was helping them get back on their feet (cooking supplies, bedding, school uniforms), then providing food (Thanksgiving pop-up) and now we are fundraising for Christmas food.
Although its been more than 3 months since Hurricane Harvey did its damages and now things are getting better but the victims are still struggling, especially with regard to food, cooking supplies and basic home furnishings.
The money was first used for basic needs (blankets, soap), phase two was helping them get back on their feet (cooking supplies, bedding, school uniforms), then providing food (Thanksgiving pop-up) and now we are fundraising for Christmas food.
Helping faster recovery physically and emotionally from this trauma, and boosting morale.
