Imani Collective provides skills training and employment opportunities to artisans in Kenya to break the cycle of generational poverty, but we don't stop there. At the heart of what we do are our holistic programs, which provide our artisans with reliable childcare, healthy food, personal development, financial literacy, and a community that truly cares. Over 8.9 million Kenyans live below the international poverty line of $1.90, as defined by the World Bank. Over half of this number are women, as they are afforded less opportunity, support, and ability to become financially independent. Through our provision of employment and holistic programs to sustain and encourage them, women are empowered to live up to their full potential and lead better lives.
Through our holistic programs, we are able to provide healthy food, reliable childcare, personal development, financial literacy, specialized trainings, a loving community, and more to our artisans. All of these pieces fit together to create a picture of real transformation as they empower and sustain our artisans as they rise out of poverty and into financial independence. This year, our base goal is $30,000, but we believe that with your help we can reach $50,000 to bring even more impact.
