A sanctuary of hope and healing for women in the DRC. Our most ambitious project yet: a permanent women's health & cancer center in Kisangani, DRC. Since opening in July 2025, the Ida Lee House offers free cancer screenings, treatment, and surgeries, with plans to expand reproductive health services & educational programs in 2026. Creating a safe, welcoming space for women to heal, the ILH is also training Congolese professionals to lead community-based healthcare for generations to come.
Women in Kisangani, DRC, face limited access to reproductive healthcare. Clinics lack reliable electricity, lab equipment, imaging, and cold storage, while transportation barriers prevent timely care. As a result, cancers and other conditions are often detected too late. The Ida Lee House provides sustainable, locally-led care to save lives and improve women's health.
The Ida Lee House is a new, permanent center for women, designed to address the lack of local reproductive healthcare. Local doctors provide surgeries, screenings, and health education. By improving infrastructure, access, and knowledge, the project enables early detection, timely treatment, and lasting improvements in women's health.
The Ida Lee House will save lives through early detection and treatment of reproductive cancers. By educating women and providing routine screenings, it empowers communities to prioritize health. Training and employing local doctors builds sustainable healthcare capacity, creating a self-sufficient clinic that improves women's health, strengthens families, and transforms communities for generations.
