Dikhatole suffers from chronic unemployment, no running water, electricity or basic housing. For the few who attend, the quality of education in the pre-primary facilities is very poor. ORT has created the Dikhatole Digital Village, with more than 90 Internet-enabled workstations, trained 2,400 children in basic computer use and is teaching teachers, school administrators and government employees to use ICT as an effective teaching and implementation tool.


Training suitable trainers from the Gauteng Department of Education to provide the science, technology and diversity training to improve childhood services and education.
