Quarter3 Aug 2025 -Marc 2026 Project Report

 

PROJECT: ICT Skilling to Rural School Dropouts in Uganda.

 

The project under name “ICT Skilling to Rural School Dropouts in Uganda” targets to strengthen capacity for school dropouts in using ICT skills to facilitate innovations based on latest ICT trends as a requirement to improve youth productivity for livelihood resilience.

 CELEBRATED OUTCOME- Quarter3 Aug 2025 -Marc 2026 Project Achievements

Approximately 100 youths in the pilot rural district out of the target 1,000 have been trained in trained video recording and editing, develop apps, document processing, internet use to access content for education, agriculture, healthcare, climate and environmental protection, data collection and analysis tools, online marketing and conferencing.

The project has currently started boosting youth productivity and savings for households Incomes as a need for supporting economic recovery in rural communities.

  • Identification of 1 Youths sub county zone.
  • Sensitization of community leadersin 1pilot youths sub zones.
  • Training of 100 youths in 1 sub zone of the district.

  • Identification of another 1 Youths sub county zone.
  • Sensitization of community leadersin 1pilot youths sub zones.
  • Training of 100 youths in 1 sub zone of the district.

 Existing Challenges:

  • Limited funds for setting up and hiring ICT training and resource centers, tutors wage, and monitoring tools.
  • Slow decision making by authorities in providing secure community ICT Recreation/meeting centers to facility faster setting up for ICT resource center.
  • Ineffective ICT devices-need more new devices to facilitate effective trainings.
  • Illiteracy of target persons-they are slow in conceptualization of ICT knowledge.
  • Communication barriers with the target groups-school dropouts.
